BEAUTY
I have very dark circles under my eye so I'm always looking for a magic potion to cure it... Or at least just hide it. I know in actuality nothing will cure it. My dark circles are hereditary. That being said i still I feel like I've tried everything. Recently I've explored Dior's eye serum and La Mer's eye concentrate. Both felt great but i didn't see much of a difference. Right now I'm using Laura Mercier's Repair Eye serum and Repair Eye Cream. I believe that the arnica extract in the serum lightens the blue under my eye (as it also does in bruising) but I also love the instant gratification that I get from the brightness it gives. This makes it a lot easier to conceal. Next I use Laura Mercier's Undereye Perfecter. This is a color corrector and should only be used on sever dark circles otherwise it might look too yellow or pink on people with minor darkness. My most recent explorations in under eye concealer include: *Makeup Forever- OK, nice thin texture but I could still see darkness and it could sometimes come off looking dry *Laura Mercier's Secret Concealer- also ok, nice moiturizing texture but a little thick and I definitely need to touch up throughout the day even when using their brightening powder to set it. *Mac pro long wear- full coverage but I had to blend two colors to get the right match and it often looked dry *Chanel- mouse like texture felt nice but the colors are limited and under eye darkness still showed through. *Bobbie Brown secret of the universe- the color corrector plus conceal plus powder felt heavy and wore off quickly *Armani- currently using. So far I like it. Nice silky texture. I found a good color match even though their shades are limited (3 new shades are due this Spring). The search continues. Remember ladies- when looking for a concealer make sure the color matches your whole face. It's fiction that
your concealer should be a shade lighter and won't cover the blue.
It may seem common sense to some but to others finding a foundation that matches your color is a shot in the dark. First find a texture that works best for your skin type (oily, dry, combination). Next decide home much coverage you want (light, medium, full). It's a good idea to have two different kinds so you can wardrobe them. For example, a full coverage for a night out and a medium coverage for everyday wear. Once you've selected your foundation try a swipe of three different colors on your chin. Start with the shade you or your salesperson think you are. The next to that color swipe a shade lighter and a shade darker onto the face. Don't blend it in. A good color match should blend seemlessly into your skin color without being rub in with a sponge. The chin is a good place to test because you can look at the color and compare it to your next to avoid having your face and neck be. Two different colors. Good luck!
so many gorgeous faces at the Golden Globes last night. But Angelina Jolie and Zoey Dashanel are two beautiful ladies showed up looking like they for beat with an ugly stick. I usually love Zoey's quirky hipster feminine style but last night was wrong wrong wrong. First off you can clearly see where her hair extensions were. And speaking of seeing, could she see anything through those bangs? Lastly the beauty and Rimmell rep was wearing way too much makeup making her look very old. More often then not less is more ladies. http://mobi.cocoperez.com/2012-01-15-zooey-deschanel-golden-globes-2012 One of my pet peeves is when someone where's red lipstick and doesn't do anything to the rest of their face. Yes your eye goes to the red lip first but then you look around a bit and notice laziness. Ugh! Though Angelina Jolie had a dark rimmed eye to support her red lip, it just came off very haphazard looking.
Yes I am already thinking about spring ;) and it will be here before you know it. This spring is going to be all about coral. The first collections of the season that I've seen from YSL, Chanel and Laura Mercier's have proven this. YSL certainly takes a more vibrant approach adding in lavender and yellow hues to their palette while Laura Mercier's is all about a light smokey eye and pale pout. Chanel has two fantastic new nail polish with their new collection- a muted peach and pretty berry sorbet tone. To wear this trend find a coral that suits your skin- fair skin tones shouldn't go too bright with the coral while dark skin tones can go to a more orange or sheer hue but not light or it will appear chalky.
